Christmas Fun!!!!

Last week started the Christmas festivities for our family. Saturday morning Gracie was in a parade with her dance class. They dressed up as Santa's elves. It was cute and fun for the girls. Thankfully the weather wasn't to cold that morning. Gracie said her favorite part was throwing candy to everyone. Saturday night Luke & I took Gracie to see the Rockettes. WOW!!!! Gracie and I loved the show! I think Luke enjoyed it too. After the show we went shopping for toys for tots. She picked out two gifts one for a boy and one for a girl. Then off to dinner. It was fun having a night out with just Gracie. This week is school parties and the Polar Express Train ride on Saturday. My parents Nana and Pawpaw will also be in town this weekend. Christmas is here!

We headed to Dallas for Thanksgiving this year. The kids did great flying and had a blast visiting their grandparents. We spent Wed. & Thursday night with my family. Friday and Saturday with Granna & Papa Luke's parents. The food was yummy!!!! We ate way to much but that's what you do during the holidays, right.? My cousin Robbie and his family came intown with my 92 year old PawPaw Flash. It amazes me he still gets on the floor and plays with the kids. Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture of this. Karli is Robbie's little girl. She turns 2 next week. Happy early birthday Karli. Luke's Aunt Janice and Uncle Tom came over with Grandma Byrd. She is in her 90's as well. I hope I can get around as well as our grandparents in my later days. We spent Saturday with Aunt Lisa and got to meet her new little dog Miley. Too cute!!!! Uncle Dusty, Aunt Lilta, & Eric came over Saturday night to watch the Oklahoma game. We returned Sunday night exhausted but anxoiusly awaiting our next visit. Thankfully, everyone will be traveling here for Christmas. Hopefully, we will return to Dallas this Spring. Or maybe we'll just send the kids. The week before we left the kids celebrated with their Thanksgiving Feast at school. Gracie lost 2 teeth and Ellis discovered she likes rice cereal. I can't beleive she's 6 months old the 11th. She's a great baby and a blessing to our family. Christmas will be fun this year!!!

Happy Birthday Daddy

We celebrated Luke's birthday this week. The kids love to celebrate birthdays. Getting ready with balloons, gifts, cake, it's all fun for them. Mommy is excited as well for it means date night is coming soon. So, Wednesday night we sang happy birthday and were honored to have Franklin with us. It was Gracie's turn to take home Franklin this week. He also enjoyed the festivities. We stayed up talking Wed. about how we don't feel 33 and can't believe where life has taken us. It seems like we just got married yesterday. Time goes by so fast. We love having our family complete. While it's busy and crazy we love having 3 kids and wouldn't change it for anything. Our prayer is to enjoy each year with our babies. They grow up to fast. I may find myself exhausted at the end of the day but there is no better feeling than knowing Luke is home safely from work and my babies are tucked in sleeping peacefully. I know one day I'm going to miss this.

Shark Attack!!!!

Gracie had a soccer game Saturday morning then we headed out to the Summit for some fall shopping. Gracie's team, the Kickers, are pretty good. We have tied one game and won three. Only 2 more to go and the season will be over. So, at the Summit we started at Gymboree then went to Pottery Barn Kids. Now my kids love Pottery Barn! It's one of their favorite stores. So it's not unusual for us to spend an hour playing. Even though we have the same toys at home. As soon as we walked in Cole spotted the Shark costume. Cole loves sharks. We have shark toys, books, shows(Kenny the Shark), etc. He put the costume on and didn't take it off. Cole is my sensitive kid. A very picky dresser. So for Cole to put this hot heavy costume on and run around the Summit (an outdoor mall) on a warm day is quit shocking. He was precious! We had cars stopping to look. He differently made people smile. I just had to post his pics since we don't know if he will actually wear it on Halloween. You never know what a 3 year old will do.

The best brother!

Cole is such an awesome brother to Gracie & Ellis. He is always thinking about them and making them laugh. At school he comes home with 2 items from the treasure chest. One for him and one for Gracie. He always shows me the toy/candy for Gracie that he picked out. Then asks me to put it somewhere special so we wont lose it. When Ellis wakes up Cole is the first one to say Good Morning and rub her little feet. He just can't wait to love on her. We love you Cole!

Busy Days

September has started off with many activities keeping our crew busy. Gracie and Cole have enjoyed being back in school with there friends. Gracie started in early August. Cole went back this week. Tuesday after school we head to Gracie's dance class. She loves dance! We've been blessed to keep their class together the past 3 years. Ms. Nina has done a great job with our girls. It's so cute to see the girls change and grow up together in class. Thursday afternoons we head to soccer practice at 5:30. Gracie loves that daddy is one of her coaches this year. Cole starts soccer in October. He will play with an indoor league of 3 & 4 year olds. He can't wait! Ellis and I are enjoying some mommy and me time. After a busy summer I couldn't wait to sit and rock my baby. I now realize how fast time goes by. Ellis is a joy! She's my easiest baby by far. When everyone is home she sits back and watches the show. You may hear her cry when she gets hungry but that's about it these days. She's going 6 hours at night. I can actually feel rested most days. We were blessed to have Uncle Brandon and Lisa come for a visit this past month. We love to have visitors! This weekend is full of birthday parties and soccer activities. Life is busy but lovin every minute of it.

Happy Birthday Cole

My baby boy turned 3 yesterday. He seems so big now with a little one in the house. Cole is a great big brother! He loves his sisters and enjoys playing with them. He loves trains, cars, airplanes, playing in the dirt, and hanging with his friends. I love his hugs. They melt my heart. At the end of the day there is nothing better then cuddling with the kids to read a good book. Happy Birthday Cole! We love you!!!!

Family Fun

We had a great visit this past week with Granna & Papa. I enjoyed having help with the little Savages and getting a few extra zzzzzz's. We celebrated Papa & Cole's birthday. Cole will be 3 on July 8th. Wow! Cole seems so big now. He was the baby just 2 weeks ago. Time flies. They kept the kids busy with trips to the park, going to see WALL.E, and visiting the McWane Science Center. We had fun! Thanks for coming.

Happy Father's Day!!!!

Happy Father's Day to my wonderful husband and our dads. We have been so blessed this week with the addition of Ellis to our family. She is loved and cuddled by all. You forget how every little sound and movement is just priceless. We all just sit around and watch her. Gracie and Cole laugh at her funny little facial expressions. Luke and I are just trying to soak up every minute of family time while they are all little and enjoying each other. We couldn't be prouder of our three little blessings. I can't help but think that is how God sees us. Watching us with pride. I couldn't of prayed for a better husband and friend. Luke has been everything to me and more since we met at good ole HU. Thanks for making all my dreams come true. We love our Daddy! Happy Father's Day!

One More for Love, Gracie and Cole introduce the Beautiful Baby Ellis

Have you ever been so proud of something you want to show everyone, but you don't really want to share. That is the state I'm in, I'm selfish I guess, I don't mind showing you Ellis, but I want to hold her. The problem is Gracie feels that way too, and Gina. Cole he likes to say "Mommy, Daddy I use one finger to touch her", so 3 out of 4 of us fight over her. I have never written a blog before and this is the best way to start.
INTRODUCING THE BEAUTIFUL BABY ELLIS
Born 6/11 at 2:46pm, 19in, and 6 lbs 12 oz. She has the most beautiful long dark hair, and cuddly little face. Ellis and Gina did very well yesterday and are doing even better today. Our family motto lately has been "One More for LOVE", and that it is.

Yippee -- Summer is here!!!!

We finished May with Gracie's dance recital, end of school parties, family visits, and High School Musical on ice. It was a busy month but FUN! We enjoyed our moms and uncle Clint's (Luke's brother) visit. Clint came in for about a week to hang with the kiddos. They couldn't get enough playtime in. Gracie did great at her recital. She's my performer. Dancing and singing are definitely her thing. Cole on the other hand was not to impressed with the whole recital and became quit restless. We had a blast at their end of school parties. Gracie's was a pirate/princess theme. We used our treasure maps to find hidden treasures, ate pizza, and Popsicles, and played games. Cole had a froggy themed party. We enjoyed playing games, eating chicken nuggets, and decorating cookies. To end our busy month we decided to take the kids to High School Musical on ice. We had a blast! Cole loves the basketball scene in the first show. He sings it all the time. Gracie thought it was so cool to see Troy, Gabriella, & Sharpay ice skating. Now we are on the final countdown for baby Ellis. We will induce next Wed. June 11th if she isn't here before then. Please pray for a healthy baby. We are so excited and can't wait to meet her!

Ellis's Baby Shower SS

Ellis's Baby Shower

Thursday morning our sweet moms flew in from Dallas to surprise Gracie and Cole and attend Ellis Faith's baby shower. We had a blast spending time with them! It just went by to fast. Thursday night was our girls night. Gracie was so excited for the baby shower! She was the star! We enjoyed doing our nails together to get ready. My dear friends Daphne, Shannon, & Jennifer out did themselves with a wonderful home cooked meal and delicious petit fours. We are truly blessed to have such a wonderful church family. We are on the home stretch for Ellis's arrival. The kids are so excited and I'm ready (I think.) Happy Mother's Day to all!!!!

Soccer

Gracie has enjoyed playing Soccer this spring. Her preschool offers an Upward Soccer program starting at 4 years old. This is a great program to start your kids with in Soccer. Every game is opened with a prayer and practice has an encouraging devotional. The kids have a blast! Of course the most exciting part is snacks at the end. Gracie was very proud of her goal is todays game. Cole couldn't wait to run on the field and give her a big high five. Way to go GRACIE!!!!

Ellis Faith

It's a girl!!!! After 5 or 6 sonograms I couldn't holdout any longer. Ellis looks beautiful and healthy but Dr. Christie still wants to check on her every visit. It's been fun guessing. In the end we both felt girl and are sooooo excited to give Gracie and Cole a sister. This will be Gracie's new baby doll. She tells me all the time not to worry. She'll take care of Ellis. We are in week #31. Time flies!!! Now summer planning for two rambunctious kiddos begins. We must keep Gracie and Cole busy. Thanks to my dear friend Danna for suggesting the name Ellis. We love it!!!!

Friends & Family

I feel so blessed! I woke up this morning to my wonderful husband cooking blueberry pancakes and scrambled eggs. To my surprise Luke had taken the morning off of work to be Mr. Mom. The best birthday gift ever!!!! He cooked, cleaned the kitchen, dressed the kids for school, and took them to school so I could have the morning off. I have to admit I didn't know what to do with myself. My dear friend Nicki sent me a delicious cookie bouquet and singing telegram. Cameron my sweet neighbor down the street took me to lunch. Then we enrolled Gracie and Andrew (her son) in kindergarten for the next school year. Thanks Cameron for taking that HUGE step with me today. I needed you! To top off the day another fabulous friend & neighbor Jenny had made our family dinner for the evening. Jenny, delicious lasagna! This momma and baby have been well feed today by our friends & family. My parents will be here this weekend to hang with the kids. Luke & I are running away for the weekend. One last weekend of rest before the baby comes. Thanks to everyone for all the cards, phone calls, & emails. Where would we be without friends and family. Taking care of each other and giving our time. This truly has been a wonderful birthday! I feel so loved and that's the best gift ever!!! 32 isn't so bad after all.

Spring Break

We headed home to Dallas for Spring Break. The kids had fun visiting friends and staying with their grandparents. We celebrated Uncle Brandon and Granna's birthdays, ate to much at the Rainforest Cafe, and enjoyed the beautiful weather. Luke's parents flew back with us on Thursday. The guys enjoyed a weekend full of basketball with the NCAA tournament in town. Gracie and Cole started back to school this week and things are starting to get back to normal. We are in the last trimester seeing the doctor every 2 weeks. Baby is growing and doing well. Mommy is feeling tired and overwhelmed. I need to get the baby's room ready and Gracie ready for Kindergarten Registration in April. Gracie has soccer and her big ballet recital coming up in April as well. Life is busy but we wouldn't have it any other way.

Snow Day

We woke up this morning to a beautiful snow fall. This is our third snow day this year. Which never happens in Alabama from what I hear. We didn't get much maybe an inch but enough for the kids to run around and play in. By noon the sun was out and quickly melting away what little snow was left. We came in to warm up and enjoy the rest of our relaxing Saturday. Daddy got to enjoy arts & crafts time, reading books, playing hide and go seek (Cole's favorite game), dress-up, movie time, etc. The best part of my day I got to enjoy a peaceful afternoon nap. I love the days Luke is home. I have been exhausted this week. We are in the 25th week of pregnancy and I have been feeling tired and hungry. Baby must be growing. The next thing I knew it was time for children to be feed, bathed, and off to bed. Tomorrow is our church Easter egg hunt. Last year Cole would pick up an egg, shake it, and politely set it back down. I think this year will be different. Gracie was more than willling this afternoon to show Cole how to properly hunt eggs. Watch out, he's a pro!

7 Random things about me...

1. I love music!
I could listen to music all day. Any kind of music we find the beat and our house is groovin. Gracie and Cole have each enjoyed listening to their CDs like Hannah Montana and the Curious George soundtract. Cole loves George!

2. Dark Chocolate
I can't get enough this pregnancy! It must be a girl.

3. Girls Night Out
It could be brunch, dinner, catch a movie, or spa day. I don't care but I need my girltime.

4. A child's laughter
When the kids get that deep belly laugh going and can't stop. Priceless

5. Projects
I seem to always have something going. I'm a scrapbooking momma. I look forward to our monthly crop times. I'm always up for a home improvement project. And I love taking pictures of the kids.

6. Outside playtime
I love our playdates at the park. The kids love to be outside. A little fresh air can change our mood really fast. We are also blessed to have a wonderful neighborhood full of kiddos.

7. Alone time with Luke
At the end of the day I just want some quiet time with Luke. To have adult conversation and catch up on our day.

Disney Vacation

We headed out Saturday for Florida. Gracie couldn't wait to see her friend Aidan and go to Magic Kingdom. Cole was just excited to go to the airport and see all the airplanes. He has been talking about going to the airport since Christmas. I guess our many trips to pick up family during the holidays made an impression on him. He loves airplanes! We met up with our dear friends Nicki and Aidan for ice cream at Downtown Disney Saturday night. It was so good to see them and let the kids run around together at Legoland. The next few days were spent at Magic Kingdom and SeaWorld. Gracie loves the princess characters and any kind of princess show. Cole enjoyed driving a race car, riding Buzz Lightyear, and seeing Mickey's house. One of his favorite shows right now is Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. He catches it every morning after breakfast. The weather was actually hotter than we thought it would be. It was around 80 most days. A nice change from the cooler temperatures in Bama. I love seeing Disney through the kids eyes. Everything is so magical. SeaWorld was a blast! We loved the Shamu show! The kids haven't stopped talking about it. Gracie is now going to be an animal trainer with dolphins and whales as well as a cheerleader. It's hilarious to hear Cole talk about the dolphinwhales. Yes, it's one word to him. He gets very animated talking about the big jumps and splashes. I'll have to try and catch a conversation on video. These are the things you don't want to forget. We came home tired but had a great time. Guess we'll wait a while before going back. Then baby #3 can expereince the fun with us.

Gracie's 5

Gracie turned 5 this past Monday. She's so excited to be a whole hand and to know Kindergarten is starting soon. Gracie is full of life! She loves to dance, sing, play dress up, all the cute girly things. While I love to just sit back and watch the show, she's growing up to fast. We pick out our own clothes and do our hair every morning. As her preschool years are rapidly coming to an end I find myself wanting to stop time. I love our playdates with friends, trips to the zoo, and days we stay in our pj's. SO, we celebrated her birthday this weekend with smiles. But I found it hard to hold back my tears. She had a fun filled weekend with her first father daughter date. Our church hosted a father daughter banquet Saturday night. She loved the chocolate fountain! That's my girl! Sunday was cake, ice cream, and presents. We leave this weekend for Disney World. I'm excited to share this trip with the kids while I have some energy and feel good. Before we know it the summer will be here and the craziness will start. But we are excited to add another Savage. Boy or girl we don't know. What I do know is Gracie will be a great Big Sister again!
